Linux email server recommendation wanted!
After 15 years in IT (Netware, OS/2, NT and light Linux administration) I purchased a non IT company and would like to bring email in house (it's hosted by our web hoster now).
We only have 5 email users out of 14 total employees, so performance is not an issue. All of the users but me use POP clients, I prefer a web client. I have a year old X86 system I can dedicate to just Linux for email.
My goals are; ease of installation, web based email administration and POP/web client support. Anyone know of a Linux distribution that meets all of these needs?
Several years ago I set up a SUSE V8 machine for email with webmin that achieved all of these goals except web client support. It took me a couple of days back then as I had a Postfix/Sendmail config problem that prevented outbound mail from succeeding. I'm guessing there is a Linux distribution that will make all of this pretty easy? Don Ebner

Any distro should do, but non will just work out of the box for things like email servers because a little bit of manual configuration is needed. I personally use CentOS 5 with postfix (I find it a lot easier to administer than Sendmail). For webmail, I use Squirrelmail. You can also install webmin on CentOS if you wish.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give CentOS a try. I expect some configuration, just didn't want to go through a huge learning curve. Don Ebner
