    Installation error

    hi...whenever i try to install Linux SUSE 10.2, i always get an error at 0% completion. the error is:

    "Failure occured during following action: Creating partition/dev/hda5
    System error code was: -1008"

    anyone know what's wrong?

    Did you allow unformatted space on your hard drive ??

    sorry im quite new to this...unformatted space? i've got windows installed already...

    You must give some space for Linux to use 10 Gig min. This must be unformatted ie no partition. So You must resize the Windows partition to allow some space for Linux.

    Download PartedMagic LiveCD and shrink existing partition(s) to create free/un-partitioned space for SuSe. Start SuSe Installation and select Free space in Partition Section. Installer will create/format partitions out of free space itself.
    It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

    thanks guys. i eventually got it to work. but now i cant install my drivers for my wireless adapter. any ideas? will wine work?
