USB2.0 Ide Drive Boot Problem
Hi,
I installed Suse 9.1 Personal to my external ide drive attached to usb2.0 port.
All went fine, no errors during install. But when i try to boot up, Grub comes up, i select suse, kernel starts booting, regognizes my external drive, but then hangs on mounting /dev/sda2 (root partition).
Ends up finally with kernel panic ...
How can i come around this ?
Thnx in advance.

Ok first of all u will need to recompile your kernel and you will need to add atleast lowlevel scsi drivers and ofcourse usb2.0 support as either moodules or compiled in to the kernel. and you might need other drivers as well however i know not your hardware. or if you use Yast you can add modules in yast....so now you ask how do iboot it to do this? Put the suse cd back in and boot off of the cd.

Testing? What's that? If it compiles, it is good, if it boots up, it is perfect. ~ Linus Torvalds
