    SUSE 9.1 Screen Goes Blank

    Hi Guys......
    I need some help...... M havin Linux SUSE 9.1 when I try to install it the after the first screen of boot, i.e.....When system prompts the screen showing boot from hdd, installation n others....No matter whatever option is selected the screen still goes blank after choosing any option. I think there is some compatibility problems......But dont know for sure......I have tried to run the installation in text mode.......but the same blank screen is up.....Please help...... Now I found out that it is booting into text mode but the same old creep. Kernel Panic.....Attempted to kill init....

    Welcome to the forums, maxxdx!

    I'm not sure what the problem might be, but Suse 9.1 is over 3 years old already. You'd probably find much better hardware support in a newer release.

    Just something to consider.

    okiezz will try n get SUSE 10.2 soon.....But Ubuntu beryl is awesome.....Which version is that sir? and what do u think which one would be better the ubuntu 7.04 or SUSE 10.2

    Beryl should run fine in either of them if your hardware is up to it.

    I'd suggest you try them both and see which one works best on your hardware, and which one suits your personal tastes best.

    The main thing is to have fun, and experiment with Linux!
