hi,
i accidentally formated my linux partition with windows' disk management. so i've lost my linux and also my windows doesn't boot. can someone help me so i can recover my windows at least?

You need to remove GRUB from the MBR. For Windows XP...
boot with a Windows emergency boot disk and run: fdisk /mbr
...or
Boot with the Windows XP installation CD and from the recovery console type: fixmbr
Doing either one should rewrite the MBR allowing you to reboot directly into Windows.
If neither of those options are available to you, try using SuperGrub:

It's a good tool for working with Linux, or Windows boot issues.
If and when you reinstall Linux, you'll have the change to install GRUB again.oz
