No Hard Drives Found By Suse 10.2

Can someone please help, when i try to install suse 10.2 on my fujitsu siemens scaleo-p 250gb SATA drive it says "NO HARD DRIVES FOUND, CHECK YOUR HARDWARE CONFIGURATION" not sure if this is a problem with the SATA drive or
    whatever. please advise.

ok i've tried several and got the same problem with each, the only one that works is ubuntu.

    Thanks anyway.

If anyone can think of a distro that will work on my machine please let me know.

This has been a common problem, discussed often

    Serial ATA (SATA) on Linux

The kernel on your install cd doesn't work with
your chipset, and therefore doesn't see your sata
drive. The easiest advice is to try another Linux
distribution or version. There may be other
    workarounds I'm not aware of.
