Problem with compiz in SuSE 10.2

Hi everyone after i have installed my ati drivers with success i tried to install the Compiz/xgl. I created the above files:
    /usr/local/bin/compiz.sh
    code:
    /usr/bin/compiz gconf & /usr/bin/gtk-window-decorator &
    and
    /opt/kde3/env/kdewm.sh
    code:
    export KDEWM=/usr/local/bin/compiz.sh
after rebooting everything was fine and the cube was workin, but when i execute the following command
    compiz --replace glib gconf
    something went wrong.
the cube stopped working and the min/maximize buttons were lost from every window....
any ideas to fix the problem?
i've tried to reinstall it but it didn't work

I need a quick reply pls from someone with better knowledge on linux than me...
As i was trying to find a solution to my problem i uninstall the compiz again in order to reinstall it properly. Yet after restarting the X, unfortunatelly the X server wasn't up.
I logged in on the shell and tried to restore the X-server but nothing. I delete the files that i mention on the previous post and also had a look on the xorg.conf but i didn't see anything strange...
Please i need help in order to restore my X-server....

    thanks in advance

Not sure what you have done, so best to go back to square one.
try this it will take you back to the vesa driver
    As root

    sax2 -r -m 0=vesa (0 is a digit, not a letter!)

Then try to start x with

    init 5

You will have to reinstall the video driver.

    thanks for the reply....
I have allready done this but with no success....
I believe that somewhere there is a file that "tells" the pc to load the xgl/Compiz in stead of the X-server.... I don't now if this is right, just a thought.

Well i 've finally manage to solve the problem
i ran yast through the console and installed again the compiz... I also configured the gconf and the gnome-xgl-settings and the compiz/Xgl is running properly.
now the question is if i ever want to uninstall compiz what should i do in order for my X-server to ran properly?
