The link helped a bit but it won't let me install anything, can you make a screen shot tutorial or a video tutorial to show me how to do it? By the way, I'm using VideoLanClient for my music.

Did you read and follow the instruction on the link? To my knowledge there are no installs on that page you simply follow the instruction to add the codecs via Yast

I don't have a clue what VideoLanClient is. Did you install the Suse Version?

I use Amarok for Music and Kaffeine for movies. Most OS media programs require the addition of at least the w32codec library.

here is how to use Yast

VideoLanClient is VLC Media Player, it handles music and videos but it says I need a video codec whenever I try watching a video or DVD on there. It says on that link, type "w32" and then press enter. Where am I meant to type "w32" in to?

My guess is that it needs the w32codecs. GO to the the pages I linked follow the instructions to load the w32codecs . To do this you must add the packman repository to Yast. Then run the Yast-software-Software Administration option. Just follow the instructions on the pages I referenced above. It may or may not fix the problem with the VideoLanClient but will allow you to run the normal players supplied with Suse with most proprietary file formats.

Okay, I've added the packman repository to YaST but I don't know where to type w32, that tutorial doesn't make any sense.
