Booting with USB mouse & keyboard

    Hi Guys,
I don't know beans about how any of this works.
When I turn my box on the booting process starts. The Grub menu appears with three choices SuSe, Windows and SuSe Safe. It will continue to boot into SuSe which I want it to anyway.
But it isn't till SuSe is well into th process of loading do my USB mouse and keyboard become active and functional.
If I had wanted to chose the Windows or SuSe Safe mode I couldn't have done it.
    Is this normal?
Is there a very basic procedure to get the USB mouse and keyboard functioing prior to loading the Grub menu?
When I say basic I mean steps that even the most ignorant newbie can follow?
    Thanks
    Owen

Enable Legacy USB Support in BIOS.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
