burning help
I have tried to download SuSe twice. both times I got through the download, but when I burned the CD there was a file missing (man something). I think I found the problem. The computer I'm trying to install it on is riddled with viruses, and the only one with the program to burn an ISO image. does anyone know of a free program, or a demo, that will let me burn an ISO image? I just need 2 good burns and I'm done with the program.

Burning question
Why not get rid of your viruses first ? You can try AVG Free Advisor - Free antivirus and anti-spyware downloads
What OS are you running? If it's Linux, you can use K3B to burn your ISO's if it's windows, you can burn them from the file manager.

Here's a HowTo that you can check out for proper steps in making sure you download and burn the ISO file properly:

Ok,
ozar, I have read your post, and still have the same problem. I have Nero, but can't seem to figure out how to burn and ISO image.
ianj, I am using avg for windows, the problem is, that everytime I install something on the computer, it gets hacked, and becomes useless for finding viruses.
if anyone knows where I can get a trial version that will allow me to burn images for a limited period of time, i'd greatly apreciate it.

Just be sure you don't make the CD bootable, because that step is taken care of automatically by the image burning process. If you make it bootable yourself, the CD won't work properly.

ok,
I gave up on the installation DVD and went for the 5 cd's instead. I got the first one burned (twice, the first time I didn't make it bootable and my BIOS wouldn't boot from it).
Once I got the second one burned and booted from it displayed the following:
NWCache R1.02 Disk Cache

Using DPMS DOS Protected Mode Services.

Minimum cache size: 1024 KB
Write-through drives: A B
Current Options:
/MLX Program is loaded into conventional and XMS memory using DPMS
/BL=16 Lookahead buffer is in convetional memory, size is in KB
/LEND=On Lend memory to other applications - 6646 KB available
/DELAY=OFF Write delay is disabled, caching is write-through

admitidly I figured most of this out, but I don't know how to use this command line to install the OS. and I don't know how to get from here to a GUI I could use (I grew up with a GUI).
Help...please

That message means you made the disk bootable.
As I said in my post above, don't make it bootable yourself, because the ISO image burning process takes care of that step automatically.oz

and as I have said, the computer won't boot from a data CD. whenever I use Nero to burn one, it just boots windows. So I have to make the first CD bootable, just to get it up and running.
heres the location of a pic of the burning tool I'm using: http://johnbokma.com/mexit/2007/01/0...disc-image.png
