    Unhappy No installation options given.

Hello helpful linux people. I've been using Linux for about 6 months and I think it's great. I'm a MS .NET developer and because Mono is so cool and because Vista is so lame, I'm making a switch from the dark side.

I had a SuSE 9.1 box that stopped booting, so I've downloaded (and correctly ISO-burned) a copy of openSuSE 10.2 for installation. I set my BIOS to boot from the DVD and I get the openSuSE welcome screen. However, instead of getting the installation menu, I only get three options: live Gnome, live KDE & boot from hard drive.

I used Knoppix to get into the box and get all my data, and then I formatted the entire disk and set up two partitions as ext2 - one 2.7Gig and the other 30Gig.

I'm still not able to get the installation menu when I boot from my openSuSE 10.2 ISO disk. I've tried a couple of other distros - Fedora 2 & a old copy of SuSE 9.0, but I can't get them to install either.

Do any of you have an idea on how I can get the installation menu to appear? Thank-you so much for your help & time.

It looks like you downloaded the LIVE version. I don't think there is an install option. You must download the installation disk(s)

The live discs of openSUSE 10.3 which will be released in a couple of days can be installed to hard disk. If you are willing to wait two days, then you can have the latest version of openSUSE.
