kooldock with Compiz-Fusion on suse 10.3
I just installed 10.3 a couple of days ago. I was on 10.2. This distro has some great improvements!
The problem:
Had koolDock downloaded and working great. After I installed Compiz-Fusion (using the new 1-click installer, which is also great) KoolDock now crashes the x-server. I removed Compiz-Fusion and kool dock once again worked.
In 10.2 i was running avant-window-manager which i absolutely loved. But since i couldn't find a 10.3 repository with the file, i wasn't sure about trying to install it just yet. Kooldock was in the packman 10.3 so i grabbed it.
Is this a known issue with compiz-fusion? If not, i wonder if its just my install, or if its a new bug with 10.3
if anyone else has experienced the same crash... and fixed it... please fill me in. I prefer the dock like window manager over the applet-bar style any day.
also if any of you have gotten a "GOOD" dock running with both 10.3 and compiz-fusion. Or have koolDock and compiz fusion on 10.3 running side by side... please let me know.
thanks

Go to ccsm,
> Effects
> Window Decoration
> Decoration windows
and enter: "any & !(name=kooldock)"
That should help ...

Thank you for your response. This solved part of the problem. Kooldock no longer crashes KDE completely.. Now only the kooldock application crashes with the message
"The application KoolDock (kooldock) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV)."
appreciate your help.. that was deffinately a step forward.

Hi,
I will try kiba-dock, until now it runs without a crash.
It's a 'funny' tool, but I think I prefer kooldock (if it doesn't crash compiz anymore).
