I've clicked Kmail, and can see the divided window, with INBOX (4) up top
and

below. Sorry, don't know how to post screenshot. Have found directory structure and can read emails from the .CURRENT folder by clicking on them. Is there something I haven't understood about FILTERING??? to select emails for reading??? Solvered!!! Viewer screen was closed fully to right, leaving only the notifications in sight across window-silly me-I didn't think that space was needed!
