Installing A Queue For A Canon Pixma Mp530
I recently bought a Canon Pixma MP530 printer and am attempting to install on my AMD 64-bit machine running SuSE 10.0. I searched the web for driver info and found at http://openprinting.org/show_printer...on-Pixma_MP530 that they recommend gutenprint, but it is based on LSB 3.1. The install instructions tell the reader to install lsb, but don't tell you where to get it and my research of lsb leads me to believe that it's more if a standards effort and an SDK than and software package anyway. So, I'm left scratching my head on this one.
I also followed another suggestion of downloading the drivers from the Canon ftp site, but the cnijfilter-mp500-2.60-1.i386.rpm file complains with the following error:
libxml.so.1 is needed by cnijfilter-mp500-2.60-1
This is puzzling since I looked in YaST and verified that the package that provides this library is in fact loaded. Perhaps it's because I'm mixing 32-bit and 64-bit packages?
Anyway, can anyone point me to a workable solution to get drivers working for this printer on this box?
Thanks

You might need to install the 32 bit version of that lib.

I thought that too, but both versions are already there.
