    Time Zone Problem and Dell TouchPad Problem

    Hi, I have installed Suse 10.3 on my Dell Insp. 6400 I am able to get everything working. blue tooth, wireless, eth net. gfx card(Ati mobility x1400) i think every thing working fine. but i have 2 problems now. I live in pakistan. so when i try to set my time zone i can't see Pakistan or any of its city listed in Asia.(I wonder why :/ ) does this has to do something with my country and Novell. even Afghanistan, Iran, India, China (all its neighbors) listed in the list but not able to find the Pakistan.
    Ok no problem I selected the time zone from Etc. GMT + 5. Now when I press the clock to see calander and world map it shows me as I am in USA :/. I mean i set the local time to 11:00 am but world map showing Day time in USA and night in Asia. is it because of my notebook ?? or am I really doing something stupid ?? :confused: any help to solve this problem.

    2nd problem is with my touchpad mouse. whenever i am using firefox and i move the cursor from left to right firefox goes one page fwd and if i move the cursor from right to left it goes back one page. like i use back and fwd button on my browser. also some times (when not using firefox) when i try to move cursor, some windows minimized or become active or something else happen. in short its annoying. any fix ?

    Thanks in advance

    1) GMT + 5 is eastern standard time in North Amarica Maybe GMT -5 is what you want.

    What time is your system clock set to??

    Go to Yast - system - time date

    Is your system clock set to the local time oe UTC??

    You might need to set it to UTC time rather then local time if you use GMT+/- values.

    Edit the /etc/sysconfig/clock, and in the end of the file set the value of TIMEZONE, and DEFAULT_TIMEZONE as

    TIMEZONE="Asia/Tashkent"
    DEFAULT_TIMEZONE="Asia/Tashkent"

    Save and exit, then reboot.

    Which one? There are several. Do you mean the background one or the one
    lives on the panel??

    Assuming KDE
    For the one on the panel right click the panel and select it from applets.

    For the background right click the desktop select configure desktop - background - advanced and select KDE world clock

    Sorry don't know gnome. Try right clicking the clock and see if there is a configuration option.
