    eth0 is up .. but not in RUNNING state... how to start it...!

    i am working with dell servers. there are two ethernet cards . eth0 eth1.

    i have given static ip for eth0 .. and made it UP..

    using
    #ifconfig eth0 up /// even i have done with yast also

    but it is not RUNNING..
    but when i configure eth1 .. it is RUNNING succesfully ..
    i want eth0 to be in RUNNING state...

    i want to know how we can do it thru terminal. (though yast is available)

    where these details genrally reside in SUSE9 ...

    pls kindly help me..!

    Did you connect a cable to that interface?
