10.3, ATI X1700, enabled AIGLX, Compiz-manager gives no whitelisted driver found???

OK... previously I was trying to use XGL and was having all sorts of issues, so I read the Compiz Fusion setup deal more closely and saw it reference using AIGLX, read up on that, saw that it only had instructions starting with 10.3, and figured HEY HEY, THE NEW THING! So, I tried it.

    Installed the one-click ATI driver:
    ATI - openSUSE

So far so good, modified the xorg.conf, as indicated-here is the serverlayout section:
    Code:
    Section "ServerLayout"
      Identifier "Layout[all]"
      InputDevice "Keyboard[0]" "CoreKeyboard"
      InputDevice "Mouse[1]" "CorePointer"
      InputDevice "Mouse[3]" "SendCoreEvents"
      Option "Clone" "off"
      Option "Xinerama" "off"
      Option "aiglx" "true"
      Screen "Screen[0]"
    EndSection
So, then I go onto the next instruction, as indicated here:
    Compiz Fusion - openSUSE

And what does it give me? This!
    Code:
    Checking for Xgl: not present.
    No whitelisted driver found
    aborting and using fallback: /usr/bin/metacity
    no /usr/bin/metacity found, exiting
No whitelisted driver found? Checking for Xgl? Why Xgl, why is the ATI driver not whitelisted, didn't I specify AIGLX correctly?

Is there no end to the woes of getting the video display working...

OK... from what I can find now, it appears as if the newer ATI cards aren't yet supported by AIGLX, but that the support is supposedly coming soon. I have no idea why XGL is having so many issues, despite the numerous formats, so for now I may as well wait for the next ATI driver (which I hear is supposed to have AIGLX support).

Is this true then? Any comments from anyone who may have more familiarity with things?
