Setting up a HP2600N on the network
Hi Guys,
We have just purchased a HP Color Laserjet 2600N and need to be able to print to this from our Suse Linux machines at a remote site. I am very new to linux and unfortunately the only connection we have to the server and machines at the remote site (where the printer is) is through the command line interface - using "Putty"
So basically im just after any advice at all as to how we go about setting this up so that all of the workstations there can print to this printer, i assume we need to setup a print queue on the server in a similar way to how it would be done in Windows but I have no idea how to do that through the command line (if its possible). I can talk someone there through adding the printer on the workstation machines, its more of just the initial setup on the server I am worried about.
Also, I read somewhere that you need to make changes to the colour settings in Linux to get any kind of decent colours from these printers, can anyone elaborate on this?
