    SLED Application Installation

    Trying to install an application in a rackmount appliance running SLED (Suse Linux Enterprise)....after untaring the files, form some strange reason, not able to launch. went in as root but still had issues.
    Needless to say, I initially had Ubuntu server with genome instance for the GUI factor but wasn't stable.
    Any tips will be appreciated.

    What error messages?

    Are you build from source?
    Do you have gcc and make installed?
    Is this a dirver or other code that may need to link to the kernel?
    Do you have the Kernel source installed?
