Installation of 10.3
After I downloaded OpenSuSE 10.3 from the main site (FTP), I installed it without a problem on my laptop (dual booting with Vista.) I then proceeded to installing it on my desktop, everything works fine. I get to the screen that says welcome to SuSE and thank you for downloading it (something like that, it's at the very end,) so then it tries to boot up in OpenSuSE 10.3, however, it just gets to a black screen and stays like that for ever. The only package difference from the CD that was different was the laptop packages, everything else I installed the exact same.
I completely wiped my HD in preparation for 10.3 - except I left a petition for Vista. I just don't know why as soon as I try booting from 10.3 it just gives me a black screen of death?

Have you tried booting suse from the installation dvd? It's one of the choices you get at the installation stage - boot an existing system.
If that works you can fix your grub entry once you're in.Pete

Funny thing is, as soon as I get to the black screen, the system doesn't crash or anything, I can hear the opening music theme of the system. I've tried running it in failsafe, but as soon as I type startx, the same black screen appears, yet I can still hear the opening jingle.

Have you tried pressing esc during the boot to get you to a console so you can see any error messages??
This sounds like a video driver problem what card/chip set do you have??

All is good to go and I see no errors present at the loading screen, although I don't know specifically what I'm looking for, it all goes by fairly quickly. I'm using 2x Nvidia Geforce 7600 gt superclocked.

I would suggest downloading the Nvidia driver and following "The hard way" section of the driver installation. You'll need the kernel source and gcc 4.2 and actually if you follow the guide "the hard way" is quite easy.
You'll find all the info on openSUSE site herePete

Hmmm, well I tried looking at that link, but I have no idea as to where I'm going to be downloading the drivers from as I can't open up a web browser.

Sorry, I was assuming you were dual booting with Vista. If you can failsafe boot and mount your ntfs/fat partition I'm sure you can copy files across. So you could download it using Vista.

Ah yes, I am dual booting with Vista. So, can I save the driver over to the C: drive and access the information on OpenSuSE? If so, how would I go about doing that?
