    How do how get on to the internet? when I put our Bigpond disk in it came up as a directory, and we also set up the DSL through the control center, please help

    You need to provide more info on how exactly you connect to the internet. If your disc was meant for Windows, then the software on it won't work on Linux.

    um, my mum can answer that as she set it all up, I'll go get her.........

    hi this Rae, yes the software is for windows, so i was hoping you can let us know how to go about getting software for Linux so Jake can connect to the internet. We are using DLink dsl 504t adsl router.
    Please let me know if you need more info.

    I don't have DSL, so I don't know how useful it is.

    If your router is set up as a DHCP server, you should be able to set your computer to get it's IP address from the server.

    More information on the Linux distro, and the NIC card that you are using would be helpful.
