    Welcome to the forums!

I use Brother laser printers and they've always worked fine for me. I'd stay clear of most Lexmarks, though.

Is that supported out of the box by S 10.3 ?

I'm not sure any printer is literally supported out of the box. Windows doesn't do it, either.

Generally speaking, you have to install either a specific driver, or you have to install a database of drivers and then pick yours from the list. I will say that I've never used a Linux distribution that the last two Brother lasers I purchased wouldn't work with.

    Hope that helps.

Can you remember the model numbers ?

And which route did you use to install them ? CUPS or whatever applicatio Brothers offered on it's support CD ?

    Many thanks for responding.

Right now I'm using the Brother HL-5150D. I don't remember the model on the previous laser. I generally use the CUPS interface to install.

You can go here to see more about which printers work well with Linux:

The HL-2030 looks OK and Brother reckon it is Linux compatible so if I can download a Linux driver from them, I'll get one tomorrow.

    Many thanks for your support.

At the Samsung web site, this printer is listed as having Linux support. In fact, you can download the driver from here:

The Samsung ML-2510 is showing to work "perfectly" with Linux at the OpenPrinting.org website, too.

Here's more information about it from their site:
