    Smile installing programs

ok i am a totally noob at this, but i downloaded a program from ati that is suppose to be a automatic program that installs software and driver for my all in wonder video card. the problem is when i click on the file it opens it as a file:///home/dale/Desktop/ati-driver-installer-8.28.8.run is a binary, saving it will result in a corrupt file.
Can anyone help me on running this program
    thank you

    Open a Konsole window

    type
    su
    then your root password

this will make you root for the session. you need this to install a driver

    type

    cd Desktop

this will change the directory to Desktop

    type

    sh ati-driver-installer-8.28.8.run

    This should run the program
These instructions should have been on the ATI page you got the driver from

    here is detailed help

    ATI - openSUSE

when i did all that you said i tried to cd desktop but said bad file or directory
so i hit dir and it list the desktop in blue
    have any ideas
thank you for any help you can give
Linux is case sensitive you must capitalize Desktop

It is listed in blue because it is a directory.
