    Extra harddrive, permissions

Hello, I'm extreamly new to Linux and this is probally something easy but I'm completely clueless at the moment.

I want to move a file to a extra Hard disk I have connected, but it says I don't have permission to do it. I'm stuck on how to get it moved... This is probably something really easy to solve for pro's but I'm quite the newbie... I've been trying to get past it for over 2 hours now Lol!

If anyone can point me in the right direction it is greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance, Xiosis

What type of extra hard disk is this? USB connected, a second internal IDE/PATA/SATA, SCSI?

Post the output of fdisk -l command here. You must have root privileges to execute that command.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
