    How do I back up my Kontact email before upgrading to 10.3?

    Hi, can anyone help me to back up my email, address book, contacts etc before I upgrade from Open Suse 10.2 to 10.3?

    I know in Microsoft Outlook I can just export the various files to do this and then reload them. I sthis possible in Kontact?

    It is always good to backup just in case but you can upgrade without disturbing your home directory. BTW You email files should be in your home directory I use Thunderbird and not sure the name of the folder for Kontact. Most probably a hidden folder.

    Any how when you install you will get to the point where you decide on the partitions. Just do it manually and tell the installer not to format /home just reformat /

    Because of newer GUI's it is best to reset them up. So rename the .kde and/or .gnome directories in your home directory This will reinitialize everything.
