New Hard Drive - How To Mount R/w Access

I just installed a new hdd I formated with Ext3 filesystem and set the mount point to /local (not really sure what that is).

I can see it under my computer but I do not have write access. What did I do wrong?

    I am running 10.3

Local is simply a folder where you mounted the file system

    Check the permissions on local

The quickest way is to navigate to the directory and right click select properties.

If you find the that the directory is not rw for all users.

    menu-System-File Manger- File Manager(Superuser)

This will give you a root level browser

navigate to the folder right click and allow write access for users.
