Kernel panic... how to get out of here? HELP

    Hi you all,

I quite a new linux user ... though it has been a gratifying experience for me to manage my system using SUSE .... Unfortunately I was having problems with my battery charger , was not charging properly all the time and caused what I was fearing to happen.

My laptop constantly got turned off due to the lack of power (while running several applications) ... last time was still OK .. I was just watching a video and it crashed...... nothing was moving so I turned it off manually.. When I turned it back on it went straight up tp the kerner panic to neve be out of there ...

It says while trying to boot and right before it goes to kernel panic that the Filesystem is NOt clean that a fsck should be run manually using -rebuild-tree option.... but have not been able to perform such a comand it never allows me to do a thing when in the KERNEL PANIC

I have read a few articles on what to do ... though I would like to hear fromo you all and try all your useful advise. Thanks

Hope to hear from you all soon. One thing I would like you to remove from what i am fearing list... is my information gone already ?
thanks again will wait for your advise.
