    Question Watching DivX movies Issues

Hey all Finally got openSUSE 10.2 installed. Turns out it was the mis-matched processors f-ing things up. Go figure. N-E-ways Installation went well, everything seems to be woking. I installed java for movies, they play fine. I installed the mplayer plugin for firefox, and now the Divx movies come up, where as before it would load the page with a blank box and say done, no controls, no buffering no nothing. Now what I get is the controls, and the buffering meeter, but no picture. It tries to autoplay as usual, but some code flashes with the buffering msg and it never plays video. I click play and it flashed a message in the same spot but will not play.

I downloaded the DivX 6.1.1 for linux and installed it, but I don't think it is running/being used because after I installed it I still got just the blank page Then I installed the firefox plugins, and got to the present state. An suggestions would be helpful, since that is the reason for this computer, to be connected to the TV for online movies and such.

I also installed the plugin MediaWrap, which is currently disabled without any effect.

    Thanks

Try the MediaPlayerConnectivity plugin. It allows you to use mplayer to play the DivX movies. If the DivX movies still don't work for you, use yast to see if you have the win32codecs installed.

Did you install all of the updated codecs for SUSE? SUSE disable codecs for many formats by default but you can usually get sorted by going through the codec section of this howto
