Poor Audio quality in Banshee on OpenSuse 10.3

    Hi,
I tried using Banshee to listen to some music, but I wasn't satisfied at all with the audio quality. I thought maybe I need audio codecs, so I went to Software.openSUSE.org and downloaded and installed all available codes. I then restarted ( a habit I have from Windows) and replayed the music but the quality wasn't good. On the same machine but using Windows my audio is crisp and clear.
Has anybody had a similar experience?

    Looking FWD to your answers!

PS. I am using a Toshiba Laptop, with an onboard sound card and Herman/Kardon speakers. I am using the Gnome Desktop and my Suse distro is 10.3.

I use Amarok it is great but I also run KDE so I don't know if that will work in gnome for sure but I think it will. I never had much luck with Banshee.
