    interface lo is not available

    hi,

today I started my suse 9 server and after running for 3years without ANY issue, it booted with an error:

    "interface lo is not available"

so my networkcard and network doesnt start either...

is there anything I can do to reinitialize the network or install it again so it fixes this loopback interface issue?

    many thanks,
    davy

    Thats well strange.
You might want to check if it works with a LiveCD.
Just to checking if its a hardware of a software problem.

    Tell me the answer.

    I dont have a liveCD...
what is weird is that everything works normal, no errors or anything not working...

    just the lo network...

but this morning I had to do a --restructure (or something) the harddrive...

so maybe it deleted bad files or folders...

but all is working just fine so I wonder how I can reinstall something to fix it again?

or maybe I just need to full reinstall?

I am pretty sure its not my hardware,
maybe the harddrive got an issue since I had to restructure it

    thanks,
    davy

If toy are sure its not the hardware. Its the software (lol, ofc )
Well, check the logs then, update logs etc.
If the kernel did upgrade just before the error you found ur problem..
If you think its your harddrive try Spinrite.
