I tried to get in root with konsole but it rejects it. I am using suse 10.2 but yast admin the root password accept it....

    Please explain what you are trying to do.

    Konsole does not require root password

    to be come root temporarily use su

    note when you type the password in su it is not echoed to the screen!!!!

    Cool

    as Gogalthrop mentioned you dont need to use root in Konsole, you need to use sudo to gain root permissions. To do this in konsole you simply type in su before any command to activate root permissions.

    open terminal

    su (or su - if needed)

    enter root password

    (note that nothing will show on screen when entering the root password text, but enter anyway, then press ENTER)
