    Problem administering Oracle 10 r1

I have installed oracle 10 release 1 on my openSuSE 10.2, using oram package for oracle 10 release 2, (which is where I think the problem source is). The problem I am now experiencing is that I cant open the web administration site. It just won't respond. I thought it was due to apache, but even after running apache I still experience the same problem. What have I skipped or done wrong?

Its kind of a broad question, can you be more specific. Does the database start up? Does apache start up? what 'oracle' did you install? Oracle oem? oracle clusterware? Oracle database? Did you check your oracle log files (start in $ORACLE_HOME/log)? I may be able to help, but I need more information.

Thanks to guys for the help you offered. But unfortunately I will not be able to use it anymore. I have just migrated to Ubuntu because of political reasons. If I get any more problems, you'll see them in the Ubuntu section. I will tell how it went.
