Maybe bcmwl5 is not the best driver to use, or NDISwrapper is not the best driver for your card.

Although Dell usually uses Broadcom chipsets, you need to know for certain. Run this command as root, and post the output.
    Code:
    # lspci
Also, make sure that you are using the same driver that came with your Dell. Using updated drivers sometimes is not better.

I found this at the NDISwrapper wiki
    Code:
Card: Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN MiniCard (Dell Inspiron E1405, Dell Inspiron E1505, Dell Latitude D620, Dell Inspiron 640m, Compaq Presario V3010AU, V3011AU)

          Chipset: Broadcom BCM4311

          pciid: 14e4:4311 (rev 01, subsys 1028:0007)

Driver: generally called bcmwl5 http://ftp.us.dell.com/network/R115321.EXE, though reporting that R115321.EXE driver does not work for Kubuntu 6.06 LTS 64-bit (Kernel 2.6.15-27),http://ftp.us.dell.com/network/R140747.EXE

UPDATE: The above driver has a mayor security bug, the newest driver is R140747.EXE.

          Alternate 64 bit driver: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&tool=softwareCategory&product=3210693&os=228
I don't know how you installed NDISwrapper, but you may want to try a different repository, or compile from source.

I just remembered that the newest Linux driver for Broadcom is called b43. I don't know if any distros include it yet. Since you don't have the bcm43xx by default, maybe the b43 is loading instead. Take a look for it.

    Haiz...
i have tried the R115321 you have guide me. wlan0 was not on the terminal when i type iwconfig. I even try the 64 bit, results are still the same.
I feel so demoralize. 1 month already still not able to get it work...

i install the ndiswrapper using the step provide in http://novell.com/coolsolutions/feature/15484.html & Ndiswrapper - openSUSE

The ndiswrapper comes with the SUSE installation. My kernel version is
    Code:
    DellCM:/media/IMATION/Wireless/sp34152a # uname -r
    2.6.16.53-0.16-bigsmp
These are the ndiswrapper i have install on my suse uing the yast software management utility

    ndiswrapper
    ndiswrapper-kmp-bigsmp
    ndiswrapper-kmp-default
    ndiswrapper-kmp-smp

Anybody can guide me what should i do? just 1 more step and i can bring my linux laptop whenever i go

    Thanks

    i have type modprobe -r b43
    it returns module not found

OK, give more info on the distro you are using. Is it Suse 10.1, 32-bit or 64-bit, etc.?

Also, now you should try different Windows drivers. The link that I posted had two other drivers listed. Also go to Dell website and look for updated drivers for your laptop. I recall trying many different ones before my wireless worked.

On my Suse 10.2 install, the wireless is listed as eth1, with eth0 being the wired LAN connection.

The bcm43xx driver wasn't in the kernel until version 2.6.18.xx. If nothing else will work, and you want to try it, you will have to upgrade to a newer kernel. You can download the b43 and bcm43xx here.
    users - Linux Wireless

They then need to be compiled as kernel modules. It may be easier to just upgrade to a newer kernel.

You seem to have done all the right things. I noticed that you have more kernel modules installed than you actually need. Only keep the one that matches your kernel ( ndiswrapper-kmp-bigsmp) and remove the others. Keep the plain ndiswrapper that is installed.

One other thing, did you load the NDISwrapper module?
    Code:
    # modprobe ndiswrapper
The other option would be to try to compile NDISwrapper from source, it is not that hard, if you have the correct apps installed, along with the kernel source.

If this is a fairly new install, and you don't absolutely need Suse Enterprise Linux 10, I would suggest that you try the most recent version of Suse. OpenSUSE 10.3 is out, and it MAY solve your problems.

EDIT: When you make changes to NDIswrapper, you should remove the existing module.
    Code:
    # modprobe -r ndiswrapper
