    SUSE Live-CD's

Does any forum member have any experience with any of the SUSE Live-CD's available for downloading? I noticed that some members of the forum have experience with the SUSE 9.2 Live-CD, but that version doesn't appear to be available. I can only find 10.3, and since I am asking a friend with fios to download it for me - I don't want to wast his time.

    Experience
No DVD ROM or burner, but I am familiar with burning iso's. I have experience with DSL and Ubuntu live-cd's and installed SUSE 9.1 to HD - destroying my disk geometry in the process. SUSE 9.1 impressed me with the fact that it found and installed my US Robotics controller based modem. It only installs on tty4 (com5)!

I have tried the 10.3 live CD (KDE version) it worked on my PC. It obviously runs slower than when you install the system to hard disc but there is a shortcut on the desktop to do an install (I have not tried that yet). I checked openoffice works & connected to the net through ethernet & router.

    Thank you Robin and Jonathan.

I was able to download the ISO of 10.3 today (Friday). It only required 2.5 hrs, and it wasn't even fios, it was in-house wireless to cable! To somebody on dial-up it was a taste of life in the fast lane! I carried the file back home on a pen drive, and md5'd it and burned it.

I have booted it twice successfully, with sound, video, and set up, and dialed out on my modem.

That's all for me, for the next couple of days. However; I wanted to reply to your posts before I get some sleep.
