First of all have a look at new users read this first thread. Then I would suggest to have a look at favorite distro for new users. If you got any questions post back.

You have got the 64 bit version of SUSE, there is a 32 bit version which you can download from OpenSUSE Software.openSUSE.org if you want to try before you install select the live CD download.
- which you can also use to install from.
