    Exclamation How to transfer files from Suse Linux samba share to a Windows file server

    hi guys..
    i am just a newbie using Linux and i am having troubles in transferring files from my Linux Samba share into a Windows File Server. I always get an error of access denied even though i have permission rights on my Windows Server.

    e.g file:
    drwxrwxrwx+ 15 cagadasm samba 584 Nov 24 19:39 ADVANTECT CD

    I was able to set up an ftp but its no use since i cant open files under a specific owner even though im using an ftp admin account.

    I think this have to do with my permission settings on each folders.. Is there any way that you can help me resolve this?

    Thanks.

    I'm confused. Is the problem while you're in windows copying froom Suse or in Suse pasting into windows. It matters.

    Just to lessen possibilities for a while, turn off Suse firewall. On again later. Add the owner of the share to the samba user database and use those username/password pAIR TO enter the share on Suse. Assuming the share was made in KDE (??) look at it with teriminal command: kwrite /etc/samba/smb.conf. It should look like this (one of mine):
    [acershare]
    path = /path_to_folder/acershare/
    read only = no
    guest ok = yes
    and the permissions on the folder "acershare" make to drwxrwxrwx
