Moving files
I dont know if this is possible, but I logged on as Root and used su as well but cant seem to move this folder to this folder as it is read only. Is there any way to change it. mv /windows/C/Users /windows/F the only reason is the C drive under windows is not booting up and causing me grief. Secondly i would like these filed and dont want to waste 10 disks. Anyone with answers would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Well how did you mount the drive? If it's mounted ro then that all you get. Also what format NTFS? FAT32?
I guess it would be too easy to grab the windows install cd and boot to safe mode and then copy the files over?

You could try using the repair function on your window's disk to sort out the booting problem or . I don't think you will be able to move the window's files unless you have NTFS-3G installed . Why don't you try COPY copy should work i am able to copy files from window's to other drives but move not work
