Runs fine until I try so show off
Having installed suse10.3 on a spare PC with W2000 already on, it went in fine.
The full package with OpenOffice etc.
Use it with great success for several days- until that is brimming with confidence I tried to show it off.
Then it crashed with 'Load error. insert disc
I did the DVD and tried the repair function - and it went through the motions- but when it rebooted got the same.
Tried the DVD again and this time ran Gnome[ I have to day I do not know what I am doing here- just trying different things- Still got load error on a DVD free boot up.
Tried to boot again same result
Checked the 1st boot device HDD IDE 0 OK it said but did not boot from it
ditto 2nd DVD No disc - fair enough there isn't
3rd Floppy Ditto
I thought OK lets see what is on the HDD.
Hmmm
I know Fdisk the drive simply to see what I have on there .
This is what I got
Part 1 non DOS . 573Mb =1%
Part 2 non DOS status A 15.500 =40%
Part3 non DOS 23.133 =59%
So it look like that Suse took over 40% 2000 still has 59% and , .572 is floating
Is that a correct reading?
and what would I do about it ?
