System Rescue Disk + Custom Application

I'm wanting to make a custom bootable disk which will boot up in SuSE 10.0 and upon start up run a custom application. I also need this to provide network connectivity. So basically how can I create my own custom boot disc to provide network connectivity and at the same time load a certain program on boot up?

SystemRescueCd allows to be rebuilt with scripts that run on booting up. Usinga rewritable allows to experiment.
You can also install it it on a hard drive to execute programs on booring.

    Some things for background:
FFI #1:Backup Restore Images of Hard Disk Drive Partitions
    FFI#2:SystemRescueCD backup partitions and drives

    Maybe worth a look

Thanks for the response. This looks like it might be the answer I was looking for. Can I contact you if I have any problems or questions with the tutorial?

I'm subscribed to this thread so if you post a question here, I'll be notified by email.

First thing to do is create the CD and then boot and then see if your PC has internet connectivity.

I'm a bit confused. After reading through both tutorials the first one for backup restore images of hard disk appears to be simply just that, imaging a hard disk. The second one talks about it being on a dedicated partition.

The way our systems are setup currently is:

    Boot Partition mirrored on MD0.
    LVM is mirrored on MD1.

Basically we want to create a custom live cd using SuSE 10.0 and have it support our NIC, which we will have to put the driver on the OS, and also have it able able to run a custom application which will connect the machine to our network using ssh so we can remotely work on it.

Our goal is to be able to remotely restore the machines or backup data if need be. Could you maybe explain the solutions you provided to me as to how they could fix my scenario?

Or if anyone else knows how to create a live cd and have a custom script run please chime in.
