How to install Java (JDK/JRE) on Suse 10.x?

If you set up the normal repositories in Yast just go to
Yast-Software-Software Management
search for Java
be sure to include the Sun-plugin module if you want browser support.
I believe you will need to set a file in your browser plugin directory if you are using Firefox/ Mozilla. Go to the jave.com download and read the instructions there. Note if you use the above method you can skip the instructions about RPM installation just do the association instructions.
Suse only supports up to 1.5 if you want 1.6 you must get it from the Java site.
