Last night I got some time to give the installation a go. The free ISO does not have the option to perform an ‘upgrade’, only a full install. So my question is if I install onto my current / partition (which has SuSE 8.2 pro) without formatting it first, and also mount my current /home partition is it likely to work OK?

Another question for those who have installed this ISO. Does it have the gnome libraries installed? If so what version?

To my knowlege, yuo will lost installed programs thought, but all your personal data stored on home should be good (im assuming that home is its own partition).

I must appologise to you all. My previous post (above) was not supposed to be in this thread, it was supposed to be in the thread I started here http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21653
But thanks for your reply anyway. BTW yes my /home is ist's own partition. I've deided to wing it and have 8.2 & 9.1 running side by side. I will configure grub myself
