Mother board + cpu change no more suse

Hello world,

I am confronted with a problem that I have no solution, Dual core is greater
than a Pentium, or?

I have linux SUSE version 10 with all the actual updates and after the
sudden death of my pentium 4 and motherboard, I replaced these with
an ASUS P5VD2-VM SE board with a INTEL E4600 DUAL CPU.

Windows realy takes off, but it appears Suse does not understand the hard ware. I can not load it from the DVD or CD1 as the cd drive from where SUSE had booted, is no longer found for the installation. Strange.

Can anybody offer an explaination and some help?

I do not want to change my linux OS just to please the CPU and Board manufactures.

If you are using 10.0 I suggest you try 10.3 which you will be able to download from OpenSUSE.org. Hardware support improves with each release.
