    Why do you want YUM??

Installing apps from a Fedora repository is a craps shoot, it may work it may not.

Normally you would install via Yast from a Suse repository or install from source.

There are differences how a Red Hat and Suse and Ubuntu (debian) orginize things.

I agree with gogalthorp. You should use Yast and SuSe's native repos only. Do not use Yum and do not install Fedora based packages in SuSe.
Check this tutorial and here is the list of additional sources.
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

I totally agree with the two posters above me and would steer clear of yum in Suse.

At this point, I'd recommend a fresh install of Suse, and then get YAST working to install packages properly in Suse.
