How does a user quiet Suse 10.3 from internet talking?

After installing Suse 10.3, the tcpdump program reveals that it talks (without my permission or knowledge) to Google, Novell, OpenSuse, Mozilla, 3 NGO orgs connected with national infrastructure cybersecurity, and some other locations.

How do I turn this all off? Suse Firewall does nothing to stop this outside chit-chat. Suse 10.1 doesn't do this. I really don't want Google-Analytics to build a database on my personal browser habits, but that is precisely what is happening. Nor do I want auditmypc to do port scans on my machine. Nor do I want securetrust looking at my ssl certificates.

Can someone experienced in a true secure firewall tell me what to do? Why is all this now happening in Suse 10.3? at least I could trust 10.1....but now???

For Google install the noscript add on. This will allow you to block what you want to and to allow what you need.

Mozilla is most likely checking for updates You can turn that off in the configuration file

Novell and OpenSuse are most likely looking for updates also turn of your autoupdate.
