Some questions on ftp on linux
Hi,
i have installed the kuftp so i can ftp my php codes to the isp server.
However using kuftp, i have enter the correct username and password and it login in perfectly without any problems. However i cannot see any folders upon login. May i know what is the problem?
By the way can introduce me some reliable ftp programs so i can use? I very new to linux therefore i have to post this qns to seek ans.

Sorry, I'm not familiar at all with kuftp.
Regarding other ftp clients, I've always used gftp just because it's been around for a long time and is quite easy to use.

I like Filezilla for a client and use the server on my Vista box as well... on my Linux machines , I'm happy using the 'vsftpd' service found in yast/network services/ftp server.
Just be sure to open a port for your Server (default is port 21 but you can switch that to any port; "ftp://your ip number:your port number" ). Also, you'll need to open ports for the "passive" mode that most modern ftp servers like to use.

For KDE, you can use KFTPGrabber and Kasablanca.
