    Unhappy I hope I didn't brick it

I just installed suse 10.3 and have been playing around with the configurations a lot. I had compiz-fusion running and native resolution (1680x1050) but now everything seems to have gotten screwed up. And not just in suse: even live cd's (such as Inside Security, the Suse install dvd, and others I had lying around) cant seem to acquire a resolution higher then 800x600. Even windows doesn't display anything: it boots up fine (the logon jingle plays and I can hear the notification balloons start popping). I'm only praying now that I didn't brick something, somehow. This is a brand new system too . Anyone have any suggestion on how to fix this (or even if it can be done)?

Using an Acer AL2216WBD LCD & Evga 8800 GTS

Oh, and I also tried connecting it to a MacBook Pro. I figured that if it was usable, OSX should see it. No luck.

What video card? Seems it may have partially died. It could also be the monitor. try the monitor on an other system. If all is well with it, it is the video hardware. If the video is on the motherboard you will need to replace the MB, otherwise return/replace the video card.
