    SAMBA Share passwords

I understand SAMBA user security which needs a username/password using smbpasswd.
But how does one create a password for share level security?

Example - Lets say a share is called MKTG.

How would I create a password for that share so that one someone wants access, they only need to provide the share password, not a username and password?

    Thanks
    ken

I'm not really sure you can. Why not make a generic user name like guest or something. After all you are giving everyone the password just tell them to type guest or whatever first. Or not require a user/password at all.

It is more for my own knowledge. I'm studying for my CLP next week and this was an interesting question. I know there must be a way or Samba would not be setup this way. I think I'll post it in another forum. Thanks anyway!
