Is this happening after the installation? If so, you need to enter the username and password you setup during install time. If you did not create any users, then you need to login as root and create a new user. Post back if you need more information.

What version of Suse?? What hardware?? What Video card??
What you have is the startup screen this is normally not visible if you have a GUI starting unless you press ESC during startup.
Log in wants a user name and then the users password.
Does it say command not found or does it saw user not found. This is important.
During install you should have been asked to supply a root password then a user name and password. If you don't remember what you typed then the best is to reinstall, and pay attention.

Have you managed to install SUSE or did you get the message when you tried to start the machine using the live CD ?
If its from the live CD what happens before you get the message?

Ok, so what hardware are you trying to install to?
How much memory?
You need to provide more info if you want help.
If it told you that the graphics failed why did you say no to the help?
What graphics card do you have?

Your hardware should be capable of running SUSE 10.3 although you may be a bit light on RAM
.
Which CD/DVD are you using to install & what method?
What happens during the install ... does it seem to do nothing for ages ... if so what text is on the screen at the time ?
What stage of the install process do you get too?
Did you manage to get to the check installation CD part & the CD passed the check?
