530:Permission denied

Hi All,

I have already posted a thread in RedHat section
But i have one more ftp error in SLES. Hope you guys can give some workaround

I have SLES 10 SP1 installed, the ftp is installed and running. But when i try to connect to any other system using ftp , after giving the u/n i get the error

530:Permission denied

However my firewall is stopped and vsftpd running, along with anonymous login=YES in vsftpd.conf.

anybody who has faced this error, please let me know if you have a solution

Just wanted to be clear, when you FTP to another server you get "permission denied" ? This sound like what happens if you use "root" to login on my FTP server.

There are some users who are automatically rejected when you hook up to a FTP server. If this the case, there is a file in /etc/ called vsftpd.ftpusers. This list shows denied or no-go users.
