Nvidia 169.07 3D accelleration not supported??

    Hello.

I get the following error message when I open the SaX2 graphics & monitor settings:

    3D Accelleration Not Supported
SaX2 Cannot offer activation of the 3D
    subsystem because your grahpics card/driver
    doesn't support 3D

I have the latest driver 169.07 on Suse 10.3 and am using a 8800GTS video card, I think both should support 3D??

    Any help appreciated!!

    Thanks

I've heard there may be problems with the latest drive try dropping back a version. Check it out over on the NVIDIA board

If I'm not mistaken, the previous nvidia driver doesn't support the 8800 cards.

Also check to be sure you are running the nvidia drive and not the nv driver in /etc/X11/xorg.config file.

If nv change to nvidia as root and restart your GUI

Do you see the NVIDIA splash screen?

    Yep, here we go:

    Linux Display Driver - x86

Support for that card just appeared in 169.07 release.

It should certainly support 3D. Something must be wrong in the xorg.conf file.
